The Italian institution, Eataly London, is collaborating with Italian chef and TV personality Carlo Cracco, to take over its much-loved wood-fired dining restaurant, Terra. The exciting partnership will showcase a newly designed menu by the legendary Italian chef, including his famous soft eggs - Uovo al Tartufo. As well as providing a new look and feel to Terra, the restaurant collaboration will see Cracco working collaboratively with Eataly, bringing his unique and modern culinary vision to life.
The Terra by Carlo Cracco launch event will take place on 17th October, where Eataly will offer guests an exclusive opportunity to witness interactive cooking demonstrations by Chef Cracco, taste the new dishes introduced to the menu, and enjoy live music and signature cocktails throughout the evening. Tickets will be available to purchase on the Eventbrite link HERE.
The following day, on 18th October, the first lunch service with Carlo Cracco will take place, offering guests the chance to meet and greet Carlo Cracco in person, whilst enjoying a range of his signature dishes, with a tasting menu also on offer.
First opening in February 2022, Eataly’s Terra offers a relaxed dining space with a focus on seasonal ingredients cooked over fire, highlighting simple, Italian cooking techniques. Terra, meaning earth, will continue to champion its original values with an elevated twist from Chef Carlo Cracco who will maintain the use of an existing two-metre-long-wood-fired grill at the heart of Terra.
The main courses will be a selection of seasonal Italian dishes and cooked using traditional methods, allowing the quality of ingredients to shine through. Guests can expect Risotto Milano, a creamy saffron risotto with smoked bone marrow and Cotoletta alla Londinese, a breaded lamb chop served with lemon and seasonal vegetables. To finish, the dessert menu will consist of Italian sweet treats, including a Nuvola Tiramisu, made using a mascarpone cloud, coffee, cocoa powder and marsala.
Carlo Cracco was born in Vicenza with a long career in the restaurant industry. He started out at a three Michelin Star restaurant in Milan in 1986 and from there, pursued a career in the culinary world. This included three years living in France learning the secret to French cuisine, becoming Head Chef at a three Michelin Star restaurant in Florence and opening his own restaurants, Cracco Galleria, the Michelin Star restaurant, and Cracco Portofino, alongside an online shop, Cracco Express. He has also featured on Italian versions of popular cooking shows such as Masterchef Italia and Hell’s Kitchen.
Andrea Cipolloni, Group CEO of Eataly, comments on the partnership, "Since its opening in London, Eataly has always provided a wide selection of high-quality products from the Italian food and wine tradition, along with experiences that highlight the Italian lifestyle.
