Review: Nim's Edible Teas

Alex Fox tries the drink and meal all in one mug with Nim's Edible Teas.

I am not going to lie, I’m a coffee addict. I have tried many a time to broaden my hot drinks horizons, but truth be told I find fruit teas promise a lot, but inevitably are all smell no taste. Which is why, when given the opportunity to challenge my views and try Nim's Edible Teas, I grabbed my mug and headed straight to the kettle.

Nim’s teas differ from others because rather than a teabag filled with random bits, Nim’s is made from dehydrated fruit and vegetables. They offer a variety of flavours, with more savoury offerings in the form of beetroot and parsnip, or sweeter choices include orange, lemon and pineapple.

I have a major sweet tooth, so unsurprisingly the watermelon and lime flavour was my favourite out of my selection.

As soon as I opened the packet, I was hit by the fruity smell, and once made, was not disappointed. I had a mug, filled with pieces of fruit, that tasted delicious and quenched my thirst, and I devoured it in seconds.

Nim’s recommend you add the rehydrated fruit to porridge or yoghurt, or if having a savoury tea, add the veg to your dinner, but the watermelon and lime mix was so tasty I ate it straight from the cup.

To increase levels of consumer smugness; each serving contains one of your five a day, and with no tea bag to throw away, waste is minimal. All of Nim’s products are manufactured in the UK using just fruit and vegetables; the range is fat, gluten and dairy-free, and are Vegan and Kosher certified.

So if you want a family-friendly drink that tastes great, I’d recommend you go get your mug ready and head over to Nim’s website
