Review: Treat Trunk

Writer Jessica Brownlie tucks into Treat Trunk and found guilt-free could be yummy too.

Contrary to popular belief, I do eat healthily.... However, I have an incredible sweet tooth and an uncontrollable love for snacks. I believe in snacking; it's the perfect thing to do! Bored? Snack! Watching a movie? Snack! Hungry? Snack!

The problem with snacking is that it's somewhat calorific, expensive and always the same thing – I'm looking at you crisps and chocolate! That's where treat trunk comes in!

Treat Trunk is an adorable box of snacks catered to those of us who enjoy a healthier lifestyle. They have snacks for every diet imaginable, from gluten-free to vegan and keto! With so much variety, you'll forget that you are being healthy.

As someone who has a newly diagnosed gluten allergy and often follows a low carb/ ketogenic lifestyle, it's often difficult to find snacks that suit my needs, especially without venturing to a health food store. However, Treat Trunk have me covered!

Some of the delights I tried are Dormen Moments passion fruit, cashew and mango fruit snacks; these little babies truly pack a flavour punch – the flavour reminded me of a Porn Star Martini, and the texture was that of a soft sweetie, incredible!

Another more-ish treat I devoured whilst binging Netflix was the Crafty Cocoa covered Peanuts from Woolf Bites. Oh my, these little delights couldn't be more delicious if they tried! Nutty, crunchy, sweet and with just a hint of saltiness, actual perfection! Next time I have these, I'll be sure to pair them with a coffee as I'm sure the flavours will complement each other perfectly.

On the savoury side, I gorged on the Cheeky P's Cheesy flavoured chickpeas that were also vegan! I have no idea how they were vegan – the flavour was reminiscent of nacho cheese, and I wanted to dive in! A great savoury snack, with a satisfactory crunch!

Other notable treats include the Hot Jalapeno Lotus Bites and the delightfully unique Salted Caramel and Quinoa Medjool Dates from Yumtaz.

The Treat Trunk supports small businesses and enables you to try something new and something you may not have found in your supermarket. There's such a beauty to the diversity of this box. You'll be hard pressed to find something you dislike!

There are so many wonderful treats in this box. It was such a wonderful experience picking out my evening's snack and doing so guilt free and knowing that I wasn't harming my overly sensitive stomach. Ten out of ten, I recommend!
